Sons of nice guys

In the NMMNG book, the author hypothesizes that the 'Nice Guy' social phenomenon resulted in part because of the women's movement. The 'nice guys' he writes about were men who were children during that time, and raised according to the new social standard.

So the primary age group the author is addressing are men about 35-50 years old, who have been married for some time and are struggling in their relationships. They are the first generation nice guys.

My parents never divorced, but their marriage unfortunately is described quite closely by Glover's book. My dad is a textbook 'nice guy' in many ways.
I see that there isn't too much activity in the 'under 30' section of this forum. I am curious about guys like me, though -- Sons of nice guys.

I've decided that this summer, and over the next 12 months, I'm going to put a lot of effort into improving my social skills and standing. I am curious to read about some of the insights of other SONGs, and to share the experiences and unique challenges we face.
