Online Support Group Terms of Usage

The Online Support Group was created to provide an environment for its members to seek advice, share personal experiences, build a supportive community, and to help form local support groups. In general, we encourage members to speak freely and express their opinions openly (but tactfully). However, the following behaviors will not be tolerated. Registered members who engage in these practices will be warned at a minimum and the offending post(s) will be deleted, and if severe enough may result in the member being banned from the Online Support Group altogether:

• Threats of suicide, or threatening to harm another person.
• Posting insulting or offensive messages to other members (flaming).
• Posts that are stereotyped based on race, religion, or sex.
• Spamming.

As an example for #3, posts that state "all/most [men/women] are evil" or "the religion of [whatever] is totally wrong" would be banned.

Also, the community exists because of its members, not because of the administrators of the forums. Like any community, we depend on the members to help keep order. The forums are moderated, but we simply cannot read every message that is posted. If you read something you believe violates the terms of usage, please report the post to a moderator (with the hyperlink in the bottom-right of the post).

This forum is intended as a support group for men attempting to follow the guidelines and general methods for recovery from the Nice Guy Syndrome as defined in Dr. Glover's book No More Mr. Nice Guy. We ask that only men post in the forums with the exception of the Partners and Family Members subforum, where anyone is allowed to post. Anyone of course may read the Public Forums. Access to the Private Forums is restricted to students of Dr. Glover's Online Classes.
